Do not miss out on this special event put on by Arizona Healthcare Executives in partnership with the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association: 3nd Annual CEO Roundtable on Diversity and Inclusion! This Category 2, Qualified, 1.5 hour Educational Event will be the shining star of our 2016 programming slate.
As the U.S. and Arizona continues moving toward a majority-minority population and endeavors to resolve the social, economic and environmental determinants that affect health and their correlations with specific health outcomes, the need to identify, address and eliminate health care disparities is increasing. We are keenly aware that addressing the needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and people with disabilities, including individuals experiencing mental health and substance abuse disorders, is equally important.
We are convening healthcare, human services, and community leaders to facilitate a dialogue and exchange best practices and new ideas that advance the Arizona’s healthcare system as a model for diversity and inclusion toward health equity for everyone. At this roundtable, we will also explore how to accelerate progress in achieving the National Call to Action to Eliminate Health Disparities in Arizona.
The ethical and business implications and imperatives healthcare organizations face concerning diversity and inclusion are immense. Diverse communities will demand culturally competent care, improved quality, new service delivery models and the leadership that reflects the community served. It is incumbent on healthcare organizations and their leaders to both understand and embrace the strengths, needs and culture of diverse populations. Their ability to respond to the unique needs and preferences of a broader customer base will be critical to achieving the Triple Aim and ultimately be part of evolving a more equitable healthcare system free of health disparities and inequities.
