The Hertel Report 2017 Summer State of the State
The 2017 Summer SOS features all you have come to expect from The Hertel Report (THR)
Join THR Publisher and healthcare consultant Jim Hammond for our June breakfast meetings in Phoenix and Tucson. The conference includes our curated collection of the top stories impacting the Arizona healthcare industry, local market updates and meaningful data and trends for Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Advantage and the Health Insurance Marketplace. Hammond will also provide insight into Arizona’s commercial insurance market and the latest on Arizona’s accountable care organizations.
This summer’s special guest is AHCCCS Deputy Director Beth Kohler who is scheduled to provide an informative recap of the agency’s successful initiatives, its recent ALTCS contract award, acute care RFI and subsequent acute bid cycle. We anticipate an informative discussion that also includes future projections for the Arizona Medicaid program under the new Trump administration’s initiatives to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.
And as always, there will be great opportunities to see familiar faces
and meet new contacts during the networking breakfast.

Hospice care can provide comfort for patients with a terminal illness, but it can also minimize the greater problem: the fear associated with dying in the first place.
Presenter: Cameron Svendsen, LCSW, Regional VP of Operations, Palliative Care Alliance and ACMA Arizona Chapter Member-at-Large Board Member
When: Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. via Webex

rightfully fear.
2. To propose a hypothesis that includes five sub-fears that constitute our legitimate fear
of death and dying.
3. To demonstrate that the Medicare hospice benefit allows skilled professionals to offer
solutions to patients and families that alleviate the fear associated with death and
dying.
