AHCCCS Seeks Input on American Rescue Plan Act HCBS Spending

May 26th, 2021 Emma Ascott Arizona News, Arizona News, CMS Rules, Health Related Groups, Pending Rules and Regulations

On June 7 at 5 p.m., AHCCCS is hosting an online community forum to solicit feedback from stakeholders about the American Rescue Plan Act home and community based services expenditure enhancement.

AHCCCS will use the feedback to submit a spending plan to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services by June 12 this year.

Section 9817 of the American Rescue Plan Act provides a 10% increase in federal matching funds (capped at 95%) to help implement or expand activities to enhance home and community based services. States can use the federal funds from the increased FMAP to supplement, not supplant, existing state funds expended for Medicaid home and community based services as of April 1, 2021. States must match the federal funds from the increased FMAP with state funds to implement or supplement one or more activities to enhance, expand, or strengthen home and community based services under the State’s Medicaid program.
